The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

BAD NEWS- I have successfully reinjured my lower back again. I AM SO PISSED! Just gonna have to take it easy for however long it takes to heal, the last thing I want is permanant back injury for the rest of my life.

Decided since my back is fu**** up I would try out sumo deadlifts.

Sorry to hear about the back. I hope it heals up fast.
That is some crazy bent over rowing. Maybe that's the back issue? Are you jerking the weight?

Bro I have a very degenerative lower back. I have to stretch and ice the **** out of it every single day. Lots of static and dynamic warm ups before I pull or squat. Also if I sleep on my stomach I'm ruined the next day. I know what its like to have a ****ty lower back mine feels great though If I stretch and do my mobility work. Do you do any dynamic or static stretches for you lower back? How about icing?

    Thanks guys.

Well I orginally hurt it about a year ago deadlifting. I heard a pop. It healed in about a month though and I was fine until now. I think i hurt it playing basketball, i must have twisted and landed weird. Then the rack pulls last week irritated it again.

I do alot of stretching but need to learn more lower back stuff all i do is foam roll for that. Any reccomendations Tom?

Just did light leg pressing today. I am changing the order of my routine so I can bench with dad on sundays, so I have DE lower again on tuesday and will probably try some light squats.

Did some high rep rows to. Got a great pump in the lats and tris.

Are you foam rolling or icing? What static and dynamic stretches do you do for you lower back?

Yeah i am foam rolling before and after workouts and at least once during the day, and icing at night.

I do most of the stretches in that DeFranco agile 8 routine. Do you have any that focus more on just the lower back? I found a few on google but they don't really do much.

Well guys I am pretty sure I bulged a disc in my lower back that is pinching my sciatic nerve that runs from the lower back all the way down my leg. I am going to the chiro next week to get it checked out.

VERY sad. But at least I can still do upper body. I found a bench only routing by Mike Wolfe that looks pretty awesome. It is a 4 day a week routine-

    Monday-
    Tuesday- Shoulders/ Back
    Wednesday- DE Bench
    Thursday-
    Friday- Shoulders/ Back
    Saturday-
    Sunday- ME Bench

It is a really cool routine. I am trying to keep my chin up and be thankful that I can still bench. Also, I am going to either work construction or landscaping this summer, so I should be leaned up and ripped by the time I move into the dorms this fall. And I can still focus on my upper body.

I appreciate all your guys' support. I'm trying to make myself believes everything happens for a reason.

Good luck with the back bro. What I do for my lower back is mostly assisted or with bands. I'll try and get a vid made.
