The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Comments:
Following the advice from Kevin, I've brought in my stance on my squats a little bit. I think it helped, since my knees didn't hurt. I did ditch the lunges for some front squats though, so hopefully that'll help out my knees a bit. My front squats are super weak though

Also, went to the spring game today. It started out pretty bad with tons of turnovers, and then kind of got better. I still have no hope that our team will win a single game this fall, though.

I dislike front squats, though I'm 99% sure it's my pathetic form on them. I don't feel comfortable doing 135 for reps. Probably something I need to work on. Workouts look good man, good luck in the fall, maybe things will turn around.

Front squats are quite tricky. A lot of people say they are easier to perfect your form on than back squats. I have to disagree though. Work on it though and it will definitely come.

Oh, and I suppose I should have mentioned the spring game I went to was for my college's football team. I wasn't associated with it in any way, so don't be too concerned for me, haha.

Today was pretty good. Got to eat barbeque and read all day. What more can I ask for in life? I also started using straps on the rows and I think it helped quite a bit. I have no idea how people row 4 plates per side or whatever they do, but hopefully I get there soon, haha.

So, deload weeks on 5/3/1 are super light. I'm not sure if I like this or not, but I'll see next week if I feel any better for it or not. On another note, I deposited my thesis, so now all I have left is to walk the aisle; just doesn't seem real...

Spent the weekend up in Chicago for my birthday/Mother's Day. It was awesome seeing my family, since I'm entirely sure when I'll get to see all of them. Plus, I got to see Iron Man 2 which rocked.

That meant no lifting sunday, so I came in today instead. I was playing Battlefront II for way too long though, and forgot that they close at 10 this week, so my workout was a little rushed, and I didn't get my last set in. Oh well - still went well.

*Graduated yesterday. Awesome. I wanted to keep my hood, but I'm not about to pay 115 dollars. Anyway, it was a good weekend.
*Woke up and felt pretty sick though, so I'm glad this workout went well. Hope I feel better tomorrow.

*I was rushed today since I was supposed to eat lunch with some people at 2 o'clock. So I didn't take much rest and therefore my reps were down. Then I got out of the gym and got home at 2:05... late for lunch. But I found out lunch got canceled anyway. I win?

    Comments:
The squat felt pretty good today, and I'm pretty sure that's a PR. After that, things kind of fell apart. Felt tired and out of it. Still pushed through and it went ok, just not good.

Then watched the Blackhawks with friends and watched a sweet goal in overtime to clinch it. Go Hawks!

*Didn't go in on sunday because I was not feeling so good from the night before. Massive amounts of drinking on Saturday and whatnot, haha.

*Also I keep forgetting tha tthe gym closes at 9 now, so I had to rush my accessory lifts. Oh well... at least my press went really well.

*Weight is so dang high because I went camping this weekend and ate non-stop. I won't complain though because I was expecting this session to feel terrible and it went pretty well actually.

*Also, this morning I decided to get out of bed as I also do and walk into the bathroom. As I was opening up the door, I heard a hissing sound and wondered what the heck it was. I opened the door some more expecting my heater to be pouring smoke or something. Turns out it was a raccoon. And he sure wasn't happy that I was invading his turf. So, I called in the animal control and he had a rough time corralling the thing... or in his words, a "vicious little beast." That was a fun morning.
