Nice workouts, Matt! Especially with the heat and humidity.

There's a heat index of 105 today. Not sure if I'm getting out to the Garage...

I'm going to Powerhouse for some cardio in about an hour and a half. I can open up that side door and sneak you in or try to get a guest pass (for now or later).

Thanks for the offer gotta daddy duty. I may try to get my squats in tonight. Its been about a month since my last deload so postponing a few sessions isn't likely to hurt anything.

Decided I needed to at least get in squats tonight. Its not getting any cooler so I might as well get it over with.

    Squats
    worked up to
    260 x 5 (RPE-8) (belt and wraps)
    260 x 5 (RPE-8) (belt and wraps)
    260 x 5 (RPE-8.5) (belt and wraps)

Squats felt better than last time but the heat was even worse. Finished up in about 35 minutes.

Was supposed to do: chins, dips and some ab work as well but said screw it too damn hot

I can vouch for that if need be! That's a good sign the squats were better on a day like today.

Great work Matt! I can't imagine squatting in that kind of heat, but as john said, if they felt easier, then that is a good sign! Keep up the hard work!

At least you got the money lift done. The heat here is starting to make me schedule my training earlier. It's been in the mid 90's for the past couple of weeks.

Thanks John. Definitely easier than last time. I think alternating heavy squat and heavy deadlifts is going really well.

Thanks Gator. I plan on getting back out there tonight to do the accessory work, then I'll take Saturday off and go again on Sunday

That's how I looked at it as well. Hard to get real motivated in that kind of heat

I cant imagine what that heat is like. My gym has a tin roof so when its hot, it heats up like an oven, but I reckon it still would be as hot as you are talking about. Fair play for getting in a getting it done matt.

I suppose training in ****ty conditions is good in a way.

Thanks guys, gotta get strong like bull!

I'd be lying if I said I had considered moving all of it to the basement. The down side would be no overhead work (only a 7ft ceiling), moving all that heavy **** and having to take apart and put back together my rack.

Nice squatting, Matt! At least you got the important part of your workout done. A lot of people would have just skipped their workout because of the heat.

I don't know about not slowing down, but I'm definitely trying to at least keep moving forward

Great stuff in here, Matt. I'm another garage lifter and our stats are fairly similar. Looks like another journal I'll whore up. I've moved my gym a bunch of times including my basement but here in Canada, I didn't move because of the heat, I moved because of the cold, LOL. I always need an indoor place to train 3 months of the year because of it. What program are you running? Have any short term goals?
