I've had a problem with my shoulder dislocating... several times a day, in the past week. it started a year ago when i had a seizure when my shoulder for dislocated and wasn't popped back in for about 4 hours... apparently EMTs aren't trained in THAT area....
ANYWAY I was doing overhead presses with dumbbells about a week ago and on my last rep while fully extended it popped out with all the weight on on it and since then i have had to be incredibly careful about everything, including the way i sleep, i'm not sure how to go about my daily habits while rehabilitating this,

I had a seizure too when I was about 18, right in the middle of a job interview too. Didnt get the job.
When I regained consciousness in the hospital I had to have my right shoulder re-set. I figured that was it, its over, that was painful. A few months down the road I am playing softball in a summer league and what do you know? Left one dislocates on a fly-ball hit to me playing right field. I had to go to the hospital to have it put in. Since then I have had too many dislocations, subluxations, whatever you want to call them. I have had a few anterior, or front dislocations which I dont have any chance of popping in myself. When the shoulders dislocated 9 out of 10 times they are posterior dislocations. Anyway needless to say, I dont have insurance and I have so many medical bills because of these god damn things.
A few days ago both of them started hurting VERY badly. I havent had them hurt like this, I mean both? Come on!
Oh yeah I had surgery by a doctor from the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute here by Chicago on my left one. Basically all he did was place a couple screws around the humeral head or shoulder socket, I dont remember which, and took a look at my rotator cuff, which looked like raw shredded skirt steak, he took some wierd looking metallic thread which was thick and sewed it up. I still have dislocations on my left but not nearly as often as they happen on the right.
Another point I should mention is that when they do happen, I am screwed. I have had lets say 25 dislocations with the "fixed" shoulder, 20 of them I couldnt place back in myself and they were extremely painful, moreso than the other loose shoulder.
I figured I would tell a lil of my story on here, having this condition sucks, I cant throw a ball, I cant do back hand pullups, I cant do more than 55 pushups, I cant play any sports where I am throwing overhand, I mean crap, I cant throw a frisbee. And this crap that has been going on this week with the pain I dont know what it is now, but the point I wanted to let you get.
Resistance bands, glucosomine. The resistance bands are what they gave me in physical therapy. The way I am feeling now, I just took a shower and shoulder level shampoo bottle in front of me made the right one pop out again.
I am not sure if you have read up on what happens during a dislocation, but I will give you the summary of it.
When you first pop the shoulder out your upper arm, or humerus, the ball that goes into your shoulder socket, it gets dented. So instead of have a roundish head to the humerus you now have a flat part, I think its called a Hill-Sachs deformation. So basically everytime you have your arm angled at where it popped out that first time, where it is no longer round but flat now. You will either have a subluxation, not a complete dislocation but , bah, im sure you have had one, feels like your arm is going to pop out, actually does but "you catch it mid dislocation" and it pops back in. Or a complete dislocation. I know you posted last year so its been almost a year, let me know how you are doing.
Maybe you have insurance and had yours fixed and are better now. Crap.
I need to have some hope with these shoulders. If I get to be 65, there is no way I will be able to reset them myself on a full blown dislocation.
