The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

*decent day since I ate like crap yesterday, nobody's fault but my own. Since I stopped taking creatine 2 weeks ago since I ran out and did not order more I noticed I only looking leaner probably just water weight loss. Been pretty frustrated with my log press lately. I have not been able to get to where I was at before and 250x3 seems like a very long ago memory. I need to get better at the clean because that is where I struggle.

I always clean the first rep off them but somedays I feel more explosive on them than others. I am going to do more heavy axle and log cleans to work on it though. It used to be anything I could clean on the axle I could press and on the log the clean was the easy part and the press was the hard part now it is still that way for the axle and the log clean has struggled. Just gotta get stronger that is always the answer anyway.

Thanks my deload lasted longer than normal (3 workouts).

    12/14/10 Axle Clean/Back 5s

    Axle Clean-
    70x5
    110x5
    135x3
    155x3
    175x5

    Corner Rows-
    140x5
    230x5
    270x5
    300x12 (pr)

    Seated lat band pd-
    g x 15,15,15

    DB rows-
    120x10
    130x10

    BB shrugs-
    280x20
    290x20

*One of the best workouts in months. 300x12 was a huge PR and I could have done 15. Once I can do pullups again I will really start to make progress. I decided to go back to 5 days a week instead of 4 with each workout being shorter. I find I gain better on this type of schedule and lower volume.

Thanks I don't know whether to call them corner rows or t-bar rows or whatever. May be ghetto rows is appropriate lol.

    12/16/10 Bench 5s

    Bench-
    bar x 15
    100x5
    140x5
    170x5
    200x5
    230x3
    260x7

    Inc CG-
    160x8
    180x8
    200x8+3+3

    Tribar lying ext (nose)-
    95x10
    105x10
    115x11

    Band pushdown/Band face pull-
    g x 15/g x 15 x 4 sets

*First time using bench as a main movement in about a month. It felt a little better but maybe that is just because it is too cold to feel pain lol. I really dropped my training weights on the bench to start off cautiously.

    Time for a change.

    12/17/10 ME Lower

    155x5
    205x5
    245x5
    265x5

    DB swings-
    80x6
    90x6
    100x6

    Lying leg raises-
    15x8
    20x8
    25x8

    Standing ab/Plate pinch-
    gx16/35s x 20sec
    gx16/35s x 22sec
    gx16/35s x 25sec

    Sled forward-in grass
    180x4x60ft

*Needed a change in training philosophy since I have stalled. Nice 18 inch DL PR and sled pulls in the grass are a real butt burner.
