The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

These are the days that count and will have you jumping over old PRs soon, not looking bad though by any means.

Your right Terry we can't hit prs everyday. As long as the weights keep increasing they will lead to PRs.

    12/2/11 DL 1s

    DL-
    140x3
    240x3
    300x1
    350x1
    410x1
    465x1
    515x2 (belt)
    545x1
    570x1 (pr)
    http://www.youtube.com/user/ironbilt727?feature=mhee

    RDL-
    140x10
    150x10
    170x10
    190x10
    210x10

    HLR-
    10
    10
    10
    10
    10

    Plank-
    70sec
    90sec (pr)

    Sandbag carry- (30 sec rest)
    150x4x50ft

*Finally I pulled a deadlift over 565 even if it is only 5lbs more. I climbed the mental hurdle. 570 was not perfect and I slightly hitched the final inch or 2 which I probably did not need to do because I was there but I was just determined to get it no matter what. I think changing my setup and doing less warmup reps has helped a lot. This day definately increased my motivation.

    12/4/11 Log 1s

    Log-
    55x5
    107x5
    147x5
    177x3
    202x2
    227x2
    254x3 (pr)

    Log strict press/Pullups (wg)-
    127x10/bw x 10
    132x10/bw x 10
    137x10/bw x 10
    142x10/bw x 10
    147x9/bw x 8 (ng)
    bw x 6 (ng)

    Hammer bar curl/band pushdown-
    80x10/gx15
    90x10/gx15
    100x10/gx15

    Band pullapart- (done throughout)-
    mini x 4 x 15

    Punching combo/Jumping Jacks-
    40/20 x 3 sets

*Fat, bloated, sluggish and tired is how I felt today. I went away for the weekend and ate too much. Despite that I still managed to hit a nice little pr. Training at home leads to some creativity so instead of doing pullups on my pullup bars which suck for the wide grip pullups because they are angled I took my barbell and put it on top of the rack and put weights on both sides of it where my shelves are in my shed. I liked this method better and I will continue to do this because it feels more natural and better on my shoulders.

No joke, it also spares you the bullshit that comes with commercial gyms.

Yeah unfortunately the commercial gyms have no shortage of dumbasses or gym idiots.

    Sled backward (15 sec)-

*Decent today. Squats are looking better every week. I am backing off a little this week instead of deloading because I plan to take a week of next month.

*I know this is probably unamerican but I hate bench pressing. It is such a stupid exercise and if it was not for powerlifting I would not do it. I hate it because it is a stupid exercise and I barely have made any real progress on it and it ends up hurting my shoulder. If I forget to take Ibuprofen before I bench like today it bothers me. I just don't get excited to bench. Ok my rant is over and one day I will bench 400 raw.

No doubt, we humans are built to pull, climb and run anyways, lol.

You do appear to be handling the benching with ease though bro.

Terry, you are right about us humans. Benching is not a natural motion unless a tree falls on you lol. I am an ok bencher.. just not my favorite lift by far.
