One of the best Daily Show interviews I've seen. One might be expecting Jon Stewart to use this oppurtunity to further demonize the Bush Administration, but it's not the case in this interview at all.
Jon Stewart is slightly douchey in the very first parts of the interview, but it gets really interesting, especially in part 3. It addresses some of the more abstract and not easily politicized aspects of what's going on with the "war on terror".
My favorite line! "the constitution does not prevent people from making bad decisions!" That is a great line!!!
If you had the choice of waterboarding a terrorist and getting information that prevented a 9/11 type attack or not waterboarding a terrorist and a 9/11 attack happened b/c you didn't waterboard, which would you rather have done? I think that answer is simple.
This interview is touching on a range of much more complicated issues.
I'd like think conservatives, of all people, would be more concerned about the limits of executive power.
This isn't about some tree hugging hippy getting all butt-hurt because a terrorist had its feelings hurt.
I'm genuinely curious to see what the ideas and attitudes people have about the bigger picture.
