The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Ok so DE upper body isn't even worth documenting. I'm treating the rest of the week as a deload and focusing on pre-hab work and just getting the blood flowing. I'm avoiding any movements that load the spine my lower back needs it. I'm also really focusing on getting my bw back up. I woke up at 193.8 this morning so that's good news just gotta keep force feeding myself.
Who the hell has trouble gaining weight while doing gomad, putting olive oil in their shakes, and eating a few lbs of red meat per day? Me, apparently lol. It does have its benefits I stay lean while bulking but god its annoying. I'll be back to SFW next week!

Nothing real exciting to report today...

    Deload

    bw 193.8

    Leg press
    2ppsx30x3

    Cable Crunches
    x20x3

    Leg Ext

    x20
    x15x2

    Leg Curl

    x15x2

Made love to the foam roller. Stretched lower back and hammies with a band. This sessions actually felt very refreshing just got a nice little pump in with some foam rolling and stretching in.

...doing gomad, putting olive oil in their shakes, and eating a few lbs of red meat... haha I love it (and I'm jealous). Deloads are important and you did a proper one which will lead to your next insane session. BTW, love the signature... it's spot on.

Good move taking a deload man, it's really important. I have the mindset where I always wanna go heavy and progress, but if you don't rest enough you get fried.

haha Steve its not as fun as it sounds. It gets really annoying. Some nights if I haven't finished the gallon I'll just have to sit at my table and force feed myself till its all gone. It can get painful lol.

Thanks man. Just remember my form didn't always look like that. Took a lot of fine tweaking. I was actually a little upset with my form on the set.

Sleep is a little better. I'm falling asleep better but still wake up around 5 hours later.

Again nothing real exciting to report. BW is back up woke up at 197.3 so that's good news. I'm really sick of eating though.

    Deload

    Pec deck
    x30
    x25
    x20
    x20

    Nautilus row
    x20
    x15
    x15

    Machine lateral Raise

    x18
    x13
    x12

    Band pull aparts

    minix20
    x20
    x20

    Tricep Ext

    orangex25
    x25
    x25
    x25

    Cable curl
    x20
    x15
    x15

It felt so weird being in the machine land part of the gym. It's where all the 150lb skinny guys with gloves workout. I swear everyone was wearing gloves lol.

Stretched out hammies and lower back with a band.

At my gym, one one side is the db rack, a couple of bench press stations, and a bunch of benches. On the other side are a couple of squat racks, leg press units, and some cable things.

The middle portion contains machines. The back part is whole row of treadmills, stairmasters and bikes.

Ideally they'd get rid of the machines and put in a couple more squat racks. I can dream, right? But that might drive away some members ... not such a hot idea when you think about it.

Saw someone deadlift 585x1 today. Then he did bent over bb rows at 3 sets of 225x8. Seriously amazing.

I'm genetically a skinny bastard so I can get away with or more appropriately I should say I have to make sure I drink a gallon of whole milk a day.

De-loading is a bitch but its necessary.

Makes a huge difference for me. Sometimes when I skip it I wonder why cause it makes such a big difference. No more skipping for me if I want to last in powerlifting.

I would go be friends with that person.

I'm feeling pretty good today. Tomorrow is ME Lower body Reverse band squats. I have a feeling January is going to be an epic month of lifting. No meet till April so I have plenty of time to train for it. Goals for the meet in april are hard to say right now but I'm thinking

519/315/519=1353 raw in the 181 class. I'm unsure what to set my goal for the deadlift right now though.

A 519 squat would also give me the National open raw APF record and the national record for the 181 APF Junior total, don't really care about that one though. I really want to squat 519 raw in competition though! I'll start squatting without wraps here pretty soon.

You said it well, an overloaded CNS combined with weight loss will have a negative effect. Plus, choked green bands don't take a ton off and you still hit 495, which is a big load. I agree, you will be back to setting PRs soon. Now go eat your five pounds of meat with a vegetable oil protein shake. haha

Just lift heavy and take a multi. Good luck with your fitness goals in 2010.

Gotta keep it in perspective bro. Considering all the factors your dealing with, an off session or two is to be expected. You'll be back smashing squat PRs by the New Year.

holy **** a gallon of whole milk?? that is a massive amount of satty fat. i cant believe youre still so lean while doing that.

anyways, squats are still massive despite the setback.. dont make it mental,. just rest up man and slam it next time. not that id know because youre dramatically stronger than me, but im sure even a slight hitch can mess with you when youre working with lifts like that
