The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

If your best is 535 then maybe 550 might be to big of a jump from 475. I probably would of gone: 405-455-495-and then 540 for a PR. Give it time brother, you'll nail it soon.

Great news about the training partner.

    When'd you hit the 535?
I'm weak now, but not for long

God I'm still frustrated about today!! I'm going to train my ****ing balls off!! I think I needed something like this to happen to really put my in gear and take my training to another level. In pumping Iron when Lou Ferigno screams Arnold while pressing I'll be screaming 550 while Squatting!

I agree with the others, that is a pretty big jump to make. I am sure though that with your new found drive, the next time you will smoke that 550. Great job on finding the training partner and meds.

At 5'10" with sumo stance the quad minis add 200, conventional 220.

That of cause is not always going to be the same due to various factors but gives you a close idea.

    I would have gone 515, 550......

You will smash it soon brother!!

"Since then I've been hitting pr's on my deadlift and squat variation every week for awhile now." - Personally, that would catch up with me, the consistent bench and deadlift PRs that I recall you hitting recently, my CNS would take a beating. So with that and your lack of sleep, yeah I think it's a good possibility that your over-stressed. I completely agree with the others, as I was looking at your session I saw 475 and then 550 and I thought how can he make that big of a jump. I really like your attitude though Tom, nothing motivates like missing a goal. It's your outlook/attitude that makes you such an outstanding lifter. Oh yeah, congrats on the health insurance... now you can do stupid **** and not worry so much about how you'll pay the hospital bill.

No, I think you should rest your ****ing balls off. I wouldn't train even harder and heavier and expect anything to change in a positive way, you need to rest up and let your CNS recuperate. Your training is just fine and you know it.

I'm talking after the deload. I'm finishing out this week then next week deloading. Naturally with a training partner that's as crazy as me the intensity will be kicked up a notch.

I got free jazz tickets from a client tonight!! Amazing seats! The front two blue seats alone together is where me and my lady friend will be sitting!

Are you feeling a bit drained? If you're feeling lethargic and worn down then the rest is necessary. I usually have random breaks that allow me to recover. I never schedule deloads, they just happen.

After this deload.............WATCHOUT! Buzz Lightyear would say "To 550 and beyond."

Yea. I forgot to mention next week is Deload. Today sessions went pretty good however, a deload is still needed. I also have tennis elbow.

Great to see a PR body weight. Jealous of the training partners, training alone for years really sucks. Where'd you get the name Triceps Death? It's called Tricep Hell. It's fun as hell to do, though.
