Great squatting Tom, looks like going without wraps isn't slowing you down a bit. Can't wait to see what you put up without wraps, should be impressive.

I know the feeling with wide squats. I question after every set if im parallel because it just doesnt feel it. But then I check the vid and sure enough im there. Great raw work bro. Love to see where you stand with some gear on. Any thoughts of maybe coming to the darkside?

I do feel that a wider stance is better on my back also. I have been giving some thought about opening up my stance some. But we'll see, i'll play around with it since I have plenty of time.

Ha I kept asking if I was hitting parallel after every set my training partner was like dude you don't even need to ask haha. I get asked that, a lot. Maybe someday I'll venture into gear but not for a long time. A 1500 raw total is on my to do list before gear.

Also for those interested this is the progress the kid I've be training for football has made in about 7 weeks. He pretty much started from scratch. No explosiveness what so ever in his lifts and sprints. Lots of work with the prowler, sled, Jump variations and bench technique. This kid is one explosive mfer. If I can teach him to get mean on the field ppl better watch out for him. Were also just getting past the introductory phase and finally hitting stride in his lifts.

    1-3-10

    Bench: 155x2 115x8

    Current
    165x3 115x16

    1-10-11
    Squat: 95x5
    Current
    145x5

    1-24-11
    Deadlift: 135x8
    Current
    300x1

I train him 4x/week WS4SB. His dad gladly signed him up for another 30 sessions. God I love my job.

I like it. Hips are exhausted though. I've strained them twice which sidelined me for month's so it scared me a little bit. I think I might start wearing some loose power pants for hip protection. I have a pair they give me maybe 10lbs carry over I can get them on by myself easy. Just haven't used them in a long time.

I'll comment on your personal training skills, that football player has made some tremendous strides!

I'd be ecstatic if I was him. He'll look like a whole new person before the school year is over! If he keeps running with things through the summer then he could be a mini-beast.

Is he honest with you about how he has been doing with his diet? Not enough teens know exactly what the diet can truly do for strength and size gains. I've been looking back at some of my stuff from high school and it's crazy to think what I was taking in and hwo dedicated I was then.

The young football player is lucky, not only to be working with you, but his Dad is awesome to lay out an opportunity for his son that way. What you are doing for yourself these days is outstanding too Tom.

Thanks! I completely agree kids that age don't even think about nutrition for strength gains. I pretty much hammer into his head he needs to be eating like a ravenous best everyday. Hes gained over 9lbs since we started.

Ok I gotta cool starry bra.

Went to the club and these two smokin chicks come up to me and say "You can be our big boyfriend" and something about protecting them from a little mexican haha. So I took them out on the dance floor and made a ThomasG sandwich, yea!!! Had two girls to myself all night it was awesome.
