Anyone else noticed this? When working with a weight that is heavy and performing high reps their seems to be a proverbial wall that is hit at the 12th rep in which any reps after the 12th rep are significantly more strenuous.
I think its all in our heads usually when i make it to my 12 rep in squats, I always wanna put it down afterwards. Even though i know i can still squeeze out another few reps. Its probably because growing up in highschool weight rooms they always told us to do 12 rep sets. Im no expert but i assume thats why.
That's likely getting to the time frame when lactic acid becomes another obstacle to overcome.
Well im finding on upper rep day its very hard to go for max reps, say if iwant to put it down around 15 and then i go for 20, yeah its really hard. I usually get some heavy disturbed or some kind of music to just rip through it.
i feel like squats in general are very mental..... I usually do 3x3, 1x8, 1x15-20.. the last time i told myself i would get 15 reps, i got 15, but when i told myself i would get 20, i absolutely made sure that i got 20.
its all mental.
It's mental. Try counting backwards.
Give chalk a chance.
