Make sure that you're training upper chest as well. Try adding some incline bench press if you're not already doing so (or even replace flat bench press with until you've made some progress with the incline press). Also do not neglect training the shoulders or triceps, as both come into play significantly during the bench press.

Try training chest once per week. Also 5x5's really help me break through chest plateaus.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    I typically do:

    Monday:

    Barbell Bench
    1 x 8 60.0kg,
    3 x 5 62.5kg
    3 x 3 65.0kg

    Flat DB Bench
3 x Max Reps (aim for 15-20 reps)

    Thursday

    Flat Barbell Bench
    3 x Max Reps (aim for 20+ reps @ 60% max)
For fun thought I'd reply to this and tell you:

Now bench 8 x 90kg and 4 x 100kg. Obviously still working on my benching, but just goes to show that plateaus are made to be smashed Thanks to everyone who offered a newbie advice all those years ago

I know this was two years ago... but... I think back in 2010 I was trying to keep to a weight class and that meant I wasn't eating enough to recover and grow. In 2012 I'm not actively fighting and so I can eat more freely
