Thanks Luna! My triceps weren't cooperating by that point. I'll get stronger on these very soon. The left elbow is flaring up pretty good. The speed work seems to be the culprit.

A good attitude goes a long way. I lost sight of that somewhere for a bit with the juggling act I've been performing.

-I'm missing too many lifts so the plan was to listen to the advice and do a triple. 295 was strong for 2 reps, but not strong enough for 3. I should have went lighter than 315 after that. I did have good intentions, but I used Wendler's calculator to determine a weight over 320. In April I did 320 for two singles and I try and improve each session. 295x3 is est.@ 324. I'm moving on to floor press and then incline, so I'll be hungrier and hopefully smarter the next round on flat bench.

A missed rep always lights a fire under my ass, and here lately I've been missing here and there, and absolutely love the next week. Some solid nice lifting John. Can't wait until I can actually hit 315 for a single. Hopefully sometime this year, ha.

I would do floor press then the next time flat bench 275x3 x 2 sets to build your confidence then the next Incline then back to bench 295x3 x 1 set.

Just an idea but I know you could do it and it will get you out of the overtraining on thebench rut.

Doing dam well an even more impressive with the massive weight loss, your one of the great examples I use to tell people who think weight loss will make them weaker (tell them how you have keep lots of strength)......hope you don't mind I keep it to first names

Good job coming back and hitting 315x1. I would take a break from benching and like you said do some floor presses or inclines.

Thanks Mark! You are improving quickly. 315 will happen. Nothing wrong with missing a lift here and there, but its happening too much for me so I'll make some adjustments.

Make me famous Nick Thanks for the ideas. I'm going to be going on a trip at the end of June and might have to take a few days off then. That should let me do the 3 weeks you laid out, rest about 3/4 days and get the 295 triple hopefully. How is the job situation BTW?
