The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Dynoed my car

Not bad for 91 octane and a conservative tune.

Bone stock z06 makes 500 at crank, so about 450 at the wheels.. what else do you have done to it? I just dynoed my gto at 387/386 with just headers/tune. I am buying a fast 102 intake and a 230/232 over 600 lift cam...hoping for 460.

I rented it for an hour so it was $75. Otherwise this place charges $25 to strap down the car and $5 a pull.

Dang, that's pretty cheap for a dyno.

Nice numbers! You gonna run it down the 1/4 mile and see what it will do, or will you do some track days in the future?

Got some more parts on the way already. Nothing for more power. New spoiler and some other bling mods. Next step is to decide what I want to do. Probably drive it like this till winter then over winter put on a blower or cam. Leaning towards a blower right now. Either a T-trim or TVS2300. I'm liking the new edelbrock kit for the ls3s and they should have it for the ls7s by the time I am ready to buy.

I would invest in some R-compound tires before I would get a blower. Your gonna need them.

Drag radials and wheels are on the list. Clutch first too. A blower would be atleast a year out.

    Don't do the blower

    1) The cylinder walls on the LS7 are very thin and do not hold up well to boost.
    2) The z06 is already extremely light...you dont need the insane amount of torque a blower would give you.
    3) A cam in a 7 liter engine will give you PLENTY of INSANE power at a fraction of the cost. You can make 600 RWHP if you get a cam and do some port work on the heads/intake manifold. Even after this, you are still half the price of the blower.

But then again, its your car . I was just giving my .02.

As for 1/4 mile times...my friend has a cammed 6.2L vette...it made 500 RWHP and he runs 11.1's at 129. 129 MPH trap is absolutely insane for the street .

That's awesome.... planning on doing an video clips? Vettes with headers/exhaust sound fantastic. You are going to love the cams when you do them. When my buddy camm'd his Viper, the difference was amazing.....

Blower is ~6k and will make 650-680rwhp all day reliably. Cam is $1500 and would make 530-550rwhp but have crappy idle and some driveability issues. Nothing wrong with boosted ls7s. They handle boost just fine. If your talking making 1000rwhp and running 15+psi then yes, but at 6-8psi they are fine and make great power. No matter what that is no time soon. For now I'm working on the exterior and just enjoy driving it.

FI is def the way to go. I got a 350Z and I plan on going Turbo/built engine next year when it's paid off. Cams just sound cool....... (well not as cool as a BOV vented to atmosphere)
