After watching Tate's video on benching I tried to modify my form tonight. I thought I was arching well before this, man, the difference is like night and day.
I used my feet to arch better, this time my traps are right on the bench, before it was my shoulder blades only. I can definitely tell that the ROM is shorter, are different muscles being used because it actually felt pretty weird and almost more difficult to bench this way. Hardest thing is definitely unracking the bar because now I'm not pushing up and out as aggressively (?) (I think if I were to I would lose the tightness on the traps).
Any comments or suggestions?
