Bulk in the winter, cut during the spring/summer?

Winter is almost gone and spring is coming. I was told by a friend that I need to do calestectics in the spring like push ups, chin ups, and bulk during the winter. whats the point of that? does something like that matter for a beginner?

You need to continue to lift heavy. Size is a product of diet. Move more, lose more weight, but if you don't lift heavy you will also lose some muscle mass while in caloric deficit. Lifting heavy will minimize muscle mass lost.

So to "cut" you'd lift heavy, move more, eat less.

If you feel like you need to cut, cut. Otherwise, continue to bulk.

Start kicking ass, and take out the crap that doesnít matter. Start doing and believing in the stuff that works, and do it today and forever. You want science and studies? **** you. Iíve got scars and blood and vomit."

I mean move more. Your lifting should remain solid with a great routine. Incorporate more non lifting activities like basketball, mixed martial arts, jiu jitsu, sprints, HIIT, sled dragging... You could even add complexes to your training. You need to be careful not to overdo it, though.
