    Tabata routines...

    how many sets of a Tabata routine should i do after a hard weight session? i currently am on week 3 of the wannabebig 1.1 routine and trying to cut up/maintain my current weight. (6'3" 220lbs) After lifting, i am currently hopping on the elliptical and doing 1 set of tabata before heading home. I feel that maybe after a two minute cool down i could easily continue on with 1 more set.

    I like to do one set, balls to the wall, with weights. In my experience, there's no way I have the energy or the will power to do another one after that.

    You can continue Tabata after the 4 minutes (8 rounds). I know some people who do 8 minutes (16 rounds). However, I would not suggest doing it one after another after the two minute cool down. However, I have done Tabata more than once in a day, but hours apart. Just don't do it too late. I did Tabata after 8:00 pm one night and could not sleep at all that night.
