The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Question on the second half of WBB 1.1

I've been happy so far with the results I've seen from WBB 1.1.
But I'm starting to struggle with the requirements as I advance into Week 12.
    Here are the perameters:

Number of sets per exercise: 2-3
    Loads: 80-85% of 1RM
    Rest: 2-3 minutes
    Reps: 8-10

My problem is: I just simply don't have the poop to knock out 8-10 reps of 80% max.
For me, it's more like... 5 before needing a spot.

So would I benefit more by lightening up and getting the reps, or staying heavy and repping whatever I can?

Glad to hear you've been getting on with 1.1 well so far.

The rep ranges are more important than the 1RM value. The program is geared around working different rep ranges in different blocks and the % of 1RM is just there to help you roughly work out what weight you should be using to hit that rep range.

Working out weights based on a 1RM calculation is always a bit hit and miss, so just focus in working with a weight that you can hit 8 reps for as the next block will see you doing 6 reps. (weeks 15-19)
