hey guys just have a quick warm up question. how many warm up sets do you do before working out? i used to do 3, but now i am switching to 2.
for example, on back-biceps day i do:
*2 warm up sets deadlifts
*1 BB curl warm up
2 BB curl
is this ok? the reason why i only do 1 warm up for biceps is because they already got warmed up when i was doing back.
the same thing applies when i am doing chest/shoulders/tri.
i do 2 warm up exercises for chest, 2 for shoulders and 1 for tri.
Personally, I don't think that warming up for bb curl is all that important, considering the fact that you'll recruit the biceps heavily in your back exercises.

yeah, thats what i think, too, i just do one set with the bar, no weights. my main quiestion is how many warm up sets to do before a workout? like when training chest or back or legs?
I've got a fairly set method.
On the main exercise of a day, depending on goal:
6, 3, 2, 1
Sometimes not even that many if I'm going extra heavy with more than 6 reps.
On the remainder, I'll either do 1-4 reps on a weight that's within 10% of my goal weight, if at all.

Depends on the exercise and how I feel. I have no real set method. The process is done to warm you up and prepare you for the heavy stuff. When that is done, I lift.
I do way more than 2-3 warmups before my first heavy set of my first exercise of the day. Deadlifts I may do 6 or so warmups before my first heavy set.

before the first set for any body part I do 2 light sets. For squats I do 4 light sets, just cause my knees bug me sometimes.
