Deadlift, snatch then the stones, in order of impressiveness? they are all pretty substantial measures of strength but that is how I see it.

Regardless, those are all incredible feats of strength and athleticism.
Actually, they are probably pretty close, but he wasn't using the word power intending that definition and that much was clear with his post.

I am probably most impressed by the heavier Pro level Strongman events, such as Fortisimus. WSM is a bit light. There are strongmen that can load stones faster than Mariusz and Z. As a matter of fact, the WSM stone series is fairly light and you could see those stone weights at a Gold or Platinum level NAS competition. Now, show me a 1,000 lb yoke, 400 farmers, 350 log for reps, or 500 lb stone load for reps and I think you get a better video representation of strongman then the video posted above. Having said that i honestly couldnt pick one. They are all awesome displays of strength, technique and athleticism.

you can't pick one lift for everyone...... of course a shorter armed and barrel chested guy will have a bigger bench than deadlift... a guy with ape arms will have a better deadlift....... doesn't mean that one guy is stronger than the other....... that's why you need the three lift total

Anything too technical can not gauge strength properly. Olympic lifts are out the window. Anything that requires specialized training is out. I would say the keg clean and parallel press should be the standard of strength for all men. It works every last muscle fiber,is very hard to do, but something everyone should be able to do without needing any special tricks to lift.

BTW I hate keg pressing. Natural stone lifting is pretty awesome. They are not round like atlas stones so you don't need any tacky crap or technical no how to lift.

Here is a link to a recent strength compilation video I made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAcKhupxIHk

I'm waiting for the "Just kidding" part...

I'm gonna go with dead lift for single lift, but I'm a fan of the big 3 total.

The deadlift is the best test of strength, not power.

    Snatch ftw.
Being a strong teenager means nothing.

My wrists hurt, but some people don't have wrists to be sore. My knees have tendinitis, but some people don't have legs to get tendinitis in. I seem to be going backwards with training, yet some people can't even walk let alone lift 400 pounds on a daily basis.

Dust out the vagina, and keep on lifting.
