Every month we hit goal we get 500$ for some new toys. Few month's ago we got medicine balls, then we got kettlebells then we got plyo boxes. What should we get next? I was thinking a Safety Squat bar, or a jump stretch platform but then again this for a commercial gym(although its a bit more serious than your regular commercial gym) not a powerlifting gym. I was also thinking reverse hyper but the budget is 500$.
The thing about a sled/prowler is there's no where for us to use it. We don't have a field or turf room. I thought about this as well.
GHR is a good idea, I'll have to check the pricing on those however. On another forum someone suggested some 10lb bumper plates for teaching deadlifts. I really liked that Idea. The fitness manager is real cool lady too, she's not your candy-land fluffy fitness lady she actually does real training(Omg a PT that teaches real training haha.). So she may be up to the idea of bumpers for teaching deadlifts.
Couldn't you pull a sled in the parking lot or on the side of the building?
Also, kegs, sandbags, farmers handles, thick handled dumbbells, large tires...
Reverse Hyper is the best idea IMO
It was the second big piece I bought after my rack.
Just save it for a couple months and you'll be able to get it in no time.
It all really depends on what kind of clients you have. A reverse hyper is pretty applicable to everyone though. Seems these days everyone has lower back problems. Your average gym client probably isn't up for prowler pushes, unless you get a lot of athletes.
I dunno if were aloud to save up?? I'll talk to lady in charge and find out and see if she'd be down for a reverse hyper. I doubt it though.
That's all great equipment off road but not very applicable to a large population of clientele.
10lb bumpers are really flimsy and wouldn't take much abuse. 25lb plates are much more solid.

Reverse Hyper is expensive, but a GREAT item, if you're a gym that dosent have one I'd get on it!

You could get a combo of items....
Empty keg shells can come pretty cheap, especially if they are used. You can fill them up with a varying levels of water or sand for a great unorthodox way to build strength.
Thick ropes for either undulations or climbing.
Barbell Landmine... it looks like a baseball plate with a sleeve holster. Allows you to insert a barbell and press it from the other end.
Weighted vests that have straps for resistance band connection.
Drop weights...? m not sure of the proper name, but they hook on to a barbell sleeve, when benching, they release onces the bar gets to the chest. Allows for a heavier negative.

How about boring but functional stuff like belts, chalk, foam rollers, bands, small increment plates for micro-loading?
It would make a commercial gym really stand out if there were a load of belts hanging up for people to use, a chalk holder, foam rollers for people to play about with and various bands for assisting pull-ups as well as resisting barbell lifts. Small plates would make a big difference for women especially and harder lifts like overhead press.
