SPF Longhorn Classic - Bench Only
I just want to quickly thank everyone that made Saturday happen. Thanks to Jesse Rodgers for bringing the SPF to Texas. Thanks to Sean Donegan for sponsoring the meet and making sure that all of us at BAG have a great place to train. Thanks to my BAG training partners: Atom, Scott, Henry, Steve, Sean, Mark, Paul and Phil. There is no way I could compete without you guys. Thanks to Jason Venn for helping me deal with my back injury and getting me in good enough shape to bench competitively. Thanks to Jason Coker for teaching me how to bench in a shirt and always taking the time to talk about training with me even though he's one of the best in the game.
Special thanks to my wife Laura for her support. Thanks thanks to my parents and mother-in-law for coming out to support me as well. Also, thank you to my son Graham who attended his first meet on Saturday and didn't cry once. I love you buddy.
Weighed in at 251 on Friday.
Opener - 555
> Got a bit off balance, but it was an easy lift.
Second - 600

Third - 630
> I tucked too soon and touched too low. Next time.
I'm really pleased with how this meet turned out. This was my first time on the platform in 11 months due to my back injury. Felt great to be back. I love powerlifting.
The plan right now is to give single-ply a shot and compete at the USAPL state meet next month.
