I did a raw meet for the APA in Edison, NJ yesterday; it definitely went well. Weighed in at 158.5 the night before, ate/drank all day.
I starting foam rolling/dynamic stretching for the squats pretty much right when I got there. I couldn't loosen up my lower back or hips for **** and I was a bit worried. It felt like a wasn't getting depth and my back was rounding a little, but another lifter informed me that it I was getting depth on the warm-ups. It felt like I wasn't able to sit back right. Still, I opened with 315 and it felt light, which it should have. 350 was my 2nd; it felt pretty easy too. My main goal was to hit 385 for this meet, since 380 was the world record for my division. It felt really heavy when I unracked it, walking it out would have been hell. On my way up, I lost my balance a bit and my weight was on my toes, but I still got it. Here are the squat vids:
Warm-ups for bench felt good. The bench was a little low, but the big problem was that the uprights were fixed and the one sitting was like 2 inches too high, so I couldnt tuck my shoulders all the way. Opened at 190, felt good. Hit 210 for my second, the lock-out was kind of tough. 225 was just too heavy and I only got it 2 inches off my chest. I think I might have gotten 225 if I could have set up probably, but Im still happy with how things went.

Warms-ups for deads felt alright, speed was a bit slow, but this is always the case for me. It took a while for the lifting to start after I was done warming up, so Ill take more time next time. Opened with 300, came off the floor easy enough. 315 for the second, came off the floor a bit slower. 330 for the third, came off the floor and I was thinking **** yea because whenever that happens I can lock it out.

Totaled 925, which was my goal (100lb PR from December 6th). It was definitely a great day and I met some cool people.
Always great to hit a goal and even better to set a new one.

Yea i was operating the mono lift for you guys while you were warming up for squats. I hit 575 on my third attempt. I was really disappointed in my lifting, was hoping to hit in the 700s but everything that could have, went wrong, Those benches really sucked didn't they?
Yea man the benches were ****ing aweful. The uprights were way too high for me so I couldnt tuck my shoulder blades in and they were so low it was hard for me to get leg drive. A lot of guys looked uncomfortable on it too. Its run well but I dont think Ill do another meet again because of that reason.
When do you plan on competing next? The WNPF USA Championships are in AC in July I think...Ill probably do those.
Not sure to be honest, i may cut down to 275 but im not sure as of now. What gym do you usually train at?
