The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Full Power Meet Today April 3, 2010

I have a full power meet today, the AAPF/APF meet in Sandy Utah ( at the gym where I train ). I went to bed too early, woke up too early and now wide awake, so I thought I'd waste some time by babbling here. I'd say the last two months or so, I've felt amazingly good, incredibly good, probably better than I have in 20 years. I think a lot of it is because I've started stretching, a lot, but I hope that means something for my performance today. I'm hoping to squat 638, bench 429, and deadlift 594. My lifts at the meet last fall were 495,402,525, so even a bad day today should be a huge increase over my last meet. I weighed in last night at 325 which is 5 pounds less than my meet last fall and it's the lightest I've been in a while ( too much skiing up at Snowbird which will probably remain the case until June ) If you ever wondered what a 6'8" 330 pound powerlifter looks like skiing in 20" of new powder look at this ( it's in hd, click on it and watch it full screen through youtube )..

    Video

I better do well at the meet today, because yesterday I missed what my snowboard buddy described as the 3rd best powder day at Snowbird in his entire life and he's been skiing/snowboarding for 30+ years.

Well, I guess that's enough babbling, maybe I can sleep some more now.

Yeah get some sleep if you can, good luck with the meet later on, hope your lifts go smoothly and that you are able to do your best . Was hoping to be there but cut my hand up, so training has been a bit different, and got roped into family stuff with the wife. Anyways wish you luck as well as the others competing today.

Yeah Creed is awesome, and youtube doesn't disable the audio when I use Creed in my videos. Wooo Hooo, I was able to get a few more hours sleep, and I'm feeling good. Time to eat a little and do some self visualizing me squatting 638, lol.

Here's the video. My second deadlift isn't on it, my buddy had to step out of the room. Why does youtube always have audio sync problems with my videos. I may upload another one later in a different format.

Huge improvement, it was nice meeting ya. The meet was amazing, didn't do as good as I hoped but for my first meet I'm just happy for the experience. Great atmosphere, everyone is so willing to help out. Cj poppin up from his bench with a bloody face was one of the most badass things I've ever seen haha.

That Gibson kid is an absolute beast. 16 years old and Squatting 750+ benching 400+ and pulling 600+. He was out-lifting almost everyone there.

    788 pull from the meet.
