    SS and CARDIO

    Hi guys

I am on the SS three day week program. I have a 10 K charity run to do in July and wondered what effects doing cardio (treadmill) twice a week 30-50 mins on my non weights days would have on my SS training and possible gains.. if any ?

It will slow down your lifting gains. it will also make it harder to gain size if that is your goal. You just have to decide what is most important.

    Max 3x5 Goal 3x5 by 12/31/11 *1X5
    Bench (245) (275) 285x1x1 335
    Dead (385)* (445) 435x1x1 505
    Squat (320) (355) 355X1X1 405
    Squat (195) (275) 20 Reppers!
    (950) (1075) 1075 1245 Goals (Not including 20 reps)

    i disagree, but only slightly

i think it will hinder your gains, but only if you dont eat more to compensate.

if you ran, say, 20-30 min instead and ate enough, you would probably be ok. i could be totally wrong though.

I will say this, run for 45min and then go squat and pull heavy the next day and see what your results are! You can eat all you want but your hamstrings and quads need time to recover.

Now I don't believe in getting fat for no reason and if the OP wants to perform well in the 10k I think he should run whenever he wants.
