    Squat Form *Videos Added*

    Here are a few videos. I am only doing 115. I did three working sets of 155 earlier today so I was too pooped to do any more weight. I dont think this is my best attempt at hip drive...

    they look fine...probably could sit back a little more with practice but eh....just keep squatting

    Only flaw I could see is you need to uniformly come up. Your butt starts up before anything else for just a split second. Mre than likely due to flexibility or stability.

    Other than that, it looks good. Keep it up.

    This is not necessarily a flaw. The butt comes up first as a result of driving the hips. As long as he maintains a rigid back and the weight in the heels, this is perfectly fine as far as I know. I think they look good, my only critique is make sure you hit the same depth on each rep. Good job, and now put two more plates on each side and you do the same thing!

    It did appear that you kind of 'snapped' your knees as you straightened them up. If that's not what happens, then no worries. If you are doing that, it could cause some knee problems in the future. Watch your depth on every rep. Keep up the good work and keep squatting.

    I have experienced some sore knees the night after squatting. I will try to avoid the knee snap on top, and also under heavier weight (im doing working sets of 165 now) after I get tired my right knee tends to come inside a little bit on the way up.

    I need to more consciously keep my knees out I think. Does anyone have advice on exercises or training to help with sore knees?

    Stretching properly can do wonders for joint pain. Use dynamic stretching for warming up before your workout, static stretching when you have some down time. Try to dedicate a half hour to stretching, turn off the tv, find a spot on the carpet and go nuts. This is something everyone neglects to do, but it is so good for you. Tight hips always affect the knees, and one of the easiest ways to alleviate sore knees is to stretch your hips and low back. Squatting is the best exercise to strengthen the knees, but its hard on the hips and if you don't stretch properly, you will pay the price. Just my two cents.
