The romanian deadlift is what I am using for ham development. Is that ok to use in a full body workout?
Also, how does this routine look?
Full body work out:
Squat, RDL, shrug, pullups, flat bench, close grip BP, overhead press, chinups.
1 to 2 work sets of 6 to 8 reps done 2 times weekly.
Look ok? Thoughts?
I do RDL's on the same day that I do Squats for the same reason as you. I don't see any problems with it yet.
Looks reasonable depending on your progression scheme. I would substitute some type of row for the chin-ups though. You probably don't need both pull-ups and chin-ups, especially without some type of rowing movement.
It is ideal to pair with the squat on a full body workout. Nice choice. Like Sean said, take out the pull-ups or chin-ups and replace it with a rowing exercise. Also, I think shrugs are a wasted effort with all the other exercises that will be hitting your traps.
I've done both on the same day and had no issues.
