The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Bench video, block periodization in action

This was last night's workout. Block training in the shirt is brutal. However, everything seems to be coming together. I'm really lucky to have the crew that I do. I could not undertake such an aggressive program without them. I was also happy that the 495 felt so light raw considering my weight loss.

Very impressive session. Looks like all the conditioning work is really paying off.

Awesome work Vin. I bet all that volume had you passed out on the floor at the end of the session.

Vincent, did you design your cycle or did Jeremy, Landon, or someone else do it? I'm always impressed watching you bench, Vin. Keep up the great work.

Brian Holloway, our training partner, designed the program. He uses the material from Frey and Landon as well as others. Basically he's a sadistic SOB making every one of us feel his pain.

Come on now Josh, we know Brian has figured this out all on his own. Forunately for us, Brian's fluent in Russian which really helps. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that others are borrowing his ideas.

Awesome work bro...Da** thats a lot of volume!

What is your body weight now? Did you have to have your shirt altered & adjusted?

Thanks. My bodyweight was 273 that day. I'm now 271. Regarding shirts, the 66 and 62 are the same shirts I used when I was 300. I will just be pushing lighter weights with them. I'm breaking in a 60 in right now, but that shirt won't see the meet in June. Ultimately that shirt will be for my 2nd attempts and on when I am used to the 242 class.

After a workout like that, are you typically sore? Though I'm new to shirt benching I'm not new to lifting weights and I haven't been sore after any work done in a shirt. Granted I'm not moving near the weights you are, but does the shirt help with muscle soreness?

Sore, I felt like I had Polio. I moved 17960 lbs that workout not including warmups. My entire body was sore like I did a full body workout. If you don't get sore from shirt work, try 9 sets of triples in it.
