So, who's going to do it?

I am seriously considering jumping ship from 5/3/1 and giving HCT-12 a serious run. 5/3/1 has been really good for me, but my curiosity will probably get the better of me. I hope that many of the people that decide to try it will keep a journal so we can follow along.

I feel the same way, if it looks interesting I will consider giving it a try for a few months.

I might. Texas Method got me a lot stronger but not much bigger, and then the last few weeks have been rubbish because of uni work and then getting ill.

Once I'm recovered this could be a good time to start a new program.

I'm so pumped that its up!

After glancing through it, I am definitely jumping on board. I'm maxing out this week, so that'll give me time read it and break it down more.

I have always loved the WBB programs and im excited about this one BIG time! Im gonna run the five day split. Im just a little confused on the working sets of 6...Like on the example they show a "working set" of 200-something x6 and work up to 340x6. If you know its going to be that high, why would you start the first working set so low?

    Worth a shot!

I have just got back from a month away in Europe with no gyms!

And my trainning partner was given the all clear to start lifting again after injury so it seems a good time to start.

We are both going to give it a go and see how it goes. The program does look good thanks Dan for the effort you put into this

I will post any results of course!

I would say to think of them as progressively heavier warm-up sets.

i will probably be trying it 3-4 months down the road when im done dieting. either that or back to a modified madcow 5x5

no point in switching programs right now near the end of the current diet.

I'm most likely going to be doing this program. I just have to finish reading through it all and figure out how I play it. Hopefully I can start it this week!

After reading it the program seems pretty basic. If you do the 3 or 4 days a week version its only 2 different workouts. Following the chart I put this together...

    Day 1
Vertical Pulling --- Weighted Pull Up
    Horizontal Pulling---DB Row
    Horizontal Pressing--Bench Press
    Vertical Pressing---DB Overhead Press
    Triceps Exercise---DB skull crusher

    Day 2
    Rest

    Day 3
    Quad dominant--- Squat
    Hip dominant---- Dead Lift
    Calf Exercise---- Standing Calf Raise
    Biceps Exercise---BB Curl
    Abs------Hanging Leg Raise

    Day 4
    Rest

    Day 5
    Repeat Day 1

You should be picking a new lift from each category when you cycle back to that day.

Not from what the article states... We advise that you stick to one exercise per cycle for each program. You can change exercises in the deload week and keep them for the next cycle, or if you feel you’re progressing with the same exercises, keep them.

I was going to do a 4 day split like

    Mon(A) Tue(B) Thu(A) Sat(B)

then switch up some but not all of the exercises, keeping things like bench squat deadlift in the routine every week

but as long as your switching some stuff up every few weeks at least that should keep your muscles from adapting to the same stress.

I want to do both squats and deadlifts, but not on the same day as they have it. Is it alright if for the four day split in workout B, for the first cycle I do squats and romanian deadlifts, then for the second cycle I do leg press and deadlifts? And just keep switching back and forth every cycle?

how would pull ups work? for example I can do about a maximum of 8 bodyweight pull ups and after that the amount i can do quickly diminishes, so would i just keep doin them until i can do more?

Do you have an assisted pullup machine at your gym?
