I'm going to be vacationing in Jacksonville for a week this summer, so I was thinking "Maybe F=ma isn't to far away, we could get a workout or two in" but then I mapquested Ft. Lauderdale from Jacksonville and I realized it was forever away. LOL

Florida is a long state! I've been to Ft. Lauderdale before, but I forgot how far south it was.

How do you like living in Florida? Where are you from originally from?

So are you working on gaining weight back now? What's your diet going to be like?

I'd like to ask for your advice - I'm in the 155-160lb weight range right now. I would guess my bodyfat percentage is 10-11%. I'm definietly lean but I'm not all cut up by any means. I'm going to be gaining as much weight as possible. I'm in the mindset now of eating whatever it takes to down enough calories to keep the weight gaining. I don't eat any real crap food like potatoe chips or anything.. but I'm eating pizza, burgers, italian beefs, whatever. I've gained good ammounts of weight in the past without eating perfectly clean with minimal fat gain. Do you think if it's worked in the past I shouldn't worry about it much? Or do you think it would be in my better interest to crack down on a clean diet since I'm going to be shooting for 180-190lbs.
the past 2 weeks i have been transitioning back into weight gain. i have taken it very slow to establish where my maintenence is. my goal is 10lbs over the next 26 weeks. my diet while gaining will be substantially the same as my diet when i was cutting. just more calories..

personally, after having bulked to 230... then cut to 175.. i will never eat without precision again. i may have gained the most muscle possible but it took me 5 months to fix my overconsumption. it highly depends on your goals also. if you to discuss further, shoot me a pm. i can talk diets and splits all day long haha

And LOL at "Squat, I don't really care about".

If you're DLing 3x BW you should be up in the 400's with your Squat.

    Go get it.

haha yeah. that is pretty much exactly what i'm aiming for. i want 10lbs... i suspect 5 will be fat, 5 will be muscle worst case scenario. i think that if i can persevere and ride this out the way I have planned, it may be as high as 2 fat/8muscle. thats purely speculation though.. as far as squatting.. i dont care about the weights im using. i go olympic style which will always limit me strength-wise.. but as long as i imrpove size and shape of my quads i dont care.

i'm actually in downtown west palm beach & i am from north chicagoland area. i like certain aspects of it a lot.. others i really dislike. but yeah, sadly JAX and WPB are quite far apart.. if you get further south, i'm definitely in for a workout. bring your headphones though because i'm all business.. no talking or screwing around lol

10lbs in 6 months??? You planning on never filling out the glycogen or water? You'll do over 10lbs worth of that after 6 months of dieting for sure.

Yeah, with that ill probably be 195. I've thought about the math and I can't think of a way to quantify it... so I want 10 lbs net of bloat. This weekend Cal's are coming up by like 150/day. I'm in a slight deficit right now. I want to do this in something just past a recomp

Nice workout. I'm likin' the lunges. Those are definitely anaerobic as hell. Definitely one of the tougher exercises, especially when grip comes into play. I've debated throwing those into my workout for hamstrings but I think it would just be added fluff after the stiff deads and hamstring curls.

Hope your shoulder feels better. I sometimes sleep awkwardly on mine and it definitely doesn't like that.

    thanks ryan, thank you terry.

rory, i dont have a better idea beyond slowly adding back in cals. i'm playing with my diet right now in seeing how i perhaps can better manipulate my off days better to work with higher FP and drop carbs down. i think that would be advantageous to what im trying to do. i have modified setup that i like that puts me just above maintenance based on my cals and weight for the past 2 weeks with much different carb timing. im actually down this morning in weight to a hydrated predump weight of 174 w/ perfect diet all this week.... so im backing my estimated maint to 2500 up from earlier estimates. maybe im being too much of a perfectionist about this. i am going to run with this new version for another 2 weeks and see how it goes... average calories net of activity over the course of the week based on revised maint estimates are substantially the same. cals are 2900/2350 for lifting/off respectively. we'll see how this goes.. my diet excel workbook has become pretty significant with data and calcs lol

Definitely huge on the lunges man. I can't do more than a couple, just because I'm a lard ass, but definitely something I like doing to hurt myself. I know that you know, but just in case you're having a momentary lapse of reason...please....get some sleep. Let that shoulder rest, let the body recoup and get back to 110% like you're normal self buddy.

Pretty sure what's going on is the same thing as a conditioned bodybuilder stage ready early. To my knowledge I believe they generally increase calories for the remaining weeks leading up to the show and they don't put on weight. Are you still working with Berto?

i am yeah. i have done explicitly what berto and i talked about for the past 2 weeks. I am without a doubt leaner than i was on 5/29 when I began.. but i feel like i can improve what i am doing with modified timing and daily dietary content

post # 84 is new, undiscussed diet theory for me though i did send him an email this morning about it.

Oh, and no homo but have you thought of doing some fitness modeling? It'll probably be easier to do after you hit your first show, but you definitely look good enough for it. Might as well take advantage of how good you look and call some agencies haha.

thanks mark! i'm going to be really careful. i dont want to injure myself... but at the same time.. ugh i hate time off.

tomorrow is day 1 of my little carb cycle experiment.. i havent heard from alberto yet so im on my own for a few days i guess.. nothing fancy like high/med/low... we have either lifting day or off day. off day is a 500cal deficit.. lifting day is a 300cal surplus, all 100% clean. this is new ground for me. if i look fatter next week, we will all know my cal targets for lifting days was too high or my body did not react the way i anticipated (this will truly surprise me).. though i suspect cals may be slightly low based on some differential analysis of my weight movement in the last 14 days and cal contents of those days.... but this is a recomp attempt so it may not matter since i'm so close to my BEP....... i'm becoming a mad scientist here.
