The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

thats not a hack squat..? looks like a derivative of a close stance smith squat diminishing leverage by placing feet way forward. hack squat is where you hold the bar behind you

That guy is a "hack." Either that or he spells "Back" with an "H"

Pretty much, but it somewhat resembles a sled hack squat, so I call it a smith hack squat. It's basically a way for me to do sled hacks without the sled. Give it a shot?

not sure for now i have to cut way back.. no matter how you slice it, the key to getting bigger/stronger is progress in any give rep range. for now, a heavy triple or five and thats it unfortunately.. minimal assistance

todays workout was another bomb. however, now that i know how to distinguish tendon aggravation from doms (they are very similar), i just cut everything short rather than fight through it, which is my normal impulse. no pressing

just a bunch of aerobic band bull**** for rear delts and like 2lb curls with the various grips w/ the green bands. some lat raises for some heavier delt stimulus.

30m elliptical also.. trying to establish my cal baseline here. i'm tapered down to maintenance i think, as ive been holding at 198 at prob 12% or so for a few days here. im still carrying a ton of bloat though from higher dietary fat and carb intake so i bet i am far closer to 10-11% once that sheds

yeah, i have visibles relaxed. im probably 9-11 weeks tops from being 7-8%.. probably closer to 7%. depends on how i feel and how well the injuries heal up. its just hard to say. i'm going to go with scotts previous method when he dieted for his comp last year.. lots of iso machine work. i want to stay off my left arm as much as possible except for deads. the full extension of the arm against the flexor tendon is supposed to help collagen repair in the correct manner. without any tension, it supposedly doesnt heal properly.... i may actually goto a PT. i'm just not sure yet.

You gotta do something to make sure that you're body is able to heal in some manner. I hate resting up also, but sometimes you gotta do it.

One way to be able to workout, but add in the extra rest, is to lower the volume as well as adding in extra rest days periodically. I didn't plan on this, but I've had 4 straight days off, and it may be a 5th day. It helps with recovery and all even if it's not my original plan.

Some more iso work could be beneficial. I felt great during my last prep and I was on a quest to sub 5% over 12 weeks. Never had any problems. I hope for the same thing this time around.

No kidding, girl who worked the gym desk for a while made numerous bets with anyone first trying the stairs, she told 'em (and me) 'you can't go no longer than 10 before tapping out". she was right, lol.

you called it terry. the amusing part is that the "calorie" indicator has the same overall total and yet stairs is so much higher in intensity. clearly unreliable.

    30m stairs, 55s/m

The stair step machine has my quads screaming in about 5 minutes. After that I have to take frequent breaks in order to continue the torture.

What does "inc" mean when you always post it after a workout or cardio. Just included?
