there is nothing really out there discussing this. I am having some shoulder probs and am starting to do band assisted rotator work to try to help this. how often should this be done? like any other muscle group? i started because im having a decent amount of left shoulder discomfort while flat benching. i tuck my shoulders and try not to flare.. but its becoming a problem and i dont want my discomfort to turn into clicking or crunching. in the mean time i guess im going to try a few more weeks of flat after adding in more rotator warmups... if that fails im going to switch to low db inclines i guess.

Good topic. If my shoulders start to bother me, I throw in some lying L-fly movements on my pressing days. If I was really smart I'd do them when my shoulders feel good too.
I made this video a long time ago w. the intention of cleaning it up and making it more than just footage... never got around to it, but it had some good ideas at the time.

A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook
