    No gloves I like the feel of the bar; and those calluses are great when doing manual work. If you labour for a living you can't afford to have your hands go soft.

    IMO, I don't want the word "soft" to be used to describe any attribute of my body.

    No gloves, but i do use those fabric loops when i go heavy on deadlift or rows, my grip gives up too quickly and my back gets nothing without them
