sugar isnt a bad thing, way too much sugar is a bad thing. and if your trying to lose weight then abnormally high amounts of sugar will keep you from reaching your goals

yeah. seems stupid to me when people ask "is this bad for me?" "will this make me fat" well just depends if it suits the diet that suits your goals. if you would build your diet and training around the very fact you want to eat it you could get away with eating almost anything. youd be wasting your time tho

personally i have a rather high sugar intake. it takes me a long time to get energy from complex carbs, and a few minutes to get it from sugars. so before and after working out, i like to be energized

even though fructose is a sugar, it dosent have the effect most simple sugars have on your blood insulin level, it has more the effect of a complex carb, thats why sugar from fruit shouldn't really be counted as simple sugars. the sugars that are bad are the refined sugars, like white sugar , and sugar in most candy's.

    uhm, dann?
could you please explain i thought a carb qualified as a sugar if its GI rating is higher than x.

so if fructose is a sugar it cant be like complex for your bod... can it?

orange is made up of more than fructose

when are you lot going to learn that, fruit is not 100% fructose in it.

people rag on about upper chest threads, well the same goes for people assuming that fruit only has fructose in it.

goes off to eat a orange.

if you worried about carbs level, eat the fruit as it has fibre in, decrease the gi and probably more vit C as well.

there are many fruits lower in carbs than ornage.

    body's correct.

Fruit is made of fructose and glucose.
If a fruit has a high glycemic value, then it primaly consists of glucose(like watermelon). In contrast, when it has a low glycemic value, it primaly consists of fructose.(like cherries)

Orange juice has a glycemic value of 55. The ~30 out of 55 is caused by the fructose and the next ~25 is caused by the glucose.

just to add fuits have some other sugars in as well, though often in trace amounts so that does not mattter.

can't say what they are as mccnace and widdowson fruit and veg food table list of the sugar is not in front me.

but if you like very detailed break downs its a good book.

though some one may have that site that breaks down food tables online. i think chicken daddy uses it for his fat breakdowns, so i assume sugar breakdowns is on there as well.

fruti often contain sorbital that has a low kcal and helps slow digestion therefore decreasing the GI.
I am not sure if this is present in juice as it may be lost with the skin?? i will let some one correct me on that point.

it also helps keep you regular as well.

well, despite not being all fructose (fructose means fruit sugar, and most of the sugar, except for grapes, is fructose in fruits), oranges have a lot of other good stuff too.
