    external rotations

    What is the difference in performing external rotations with
    the upper arm abducted 90degress or with it held by the side(hope this is clear)?

    The two exercises will work things a little differently as the humerus is positioned in the joint differently. I will tend to do both exercises. Both exercises and more are described in the book "the 7 minute Rotator Cuff solution".
