The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Mixed in some sumo pulls yesterday during warmups and my hips are screaming today. Sumo always seems to aggrevate the arthiritis/inflammation in my hips, just trying to strengthen my weaker stance but they always kill my hips even geared. Gotta pay the price to be the boss I guess, it's all part of the game so stop being a whipping boy, suck it up and pass me more ibuprophen and bengay!

I think I have figured out my plans for next years meets. I am going to compete at the Ironman in March, single ply as planned but the next meet will be the Nationals in June in Gatlinburg where i will try my hand at the multi ply gear. I figure that should give me plenty of time to figure the gear out after the Ironman. I will need to get my Ace suit altered and pickup a new shirt.

    Merry Christmas to all!

Weight gain has made my katana tight as hell! Took a few reps to get in the groove and tolerate the pain, as it was biting me pretty good. But it's worth it for the PR's!

Absolutely whipped from yesterdays bench session with shirt. Triples to a one board or lower really cooks me. I almost skipped today but sucked it up and still managed a PR so I am very happy with that. Body weight over the holidays is creeping up so I definately need to keep an eye on that. Went overboard on the Christmas cookies I guess!

New setup for doing lockouts using chains suspended from top of the rack. Going for a more natural feel as opposed to pin presses. Definately harder as it eliminates some of the bounce you get from the pins plus the last link is one hole lower than my normal pin I press from.

PR on raw box squat was 425 about 6-8 months ago, so it has been awhile. Box just below parallel. I usually free squat raw about 70-80 more than my box max so that puts me well beyond my raw max of 500, nice!

Skipped Friday cause I had to take my English bulldog to the emergency vet. She got stung by a bee or bit by a spider they think and she had an allergic reaction. Her eye swelled shut and she tore her face all to hell scratchin at the spot. Now she has to wear on of those crazy funnel collars to keep her from scratchin it. She looks like she is hatin life right now, lol.
