NEW ARTICLE - An Interview with Bench Press Specialist - Vincent Dizenzo

Vincent Dizenzo has been crushing big iron for over fifteen years. He has held multiple bench press records, including a recent 605-lb raw bench press at 322lbs as a Masters competitor.

Vincent recently made the decision to lose body weight and compete in the 242-lb weight class. You read that right - from a superheavyweight to a lean, mean, 242-lb lifter!

In this interview, we cover the why and the how and also what his plans are for the future!

I give huge props to vinny for this and I think it was a smart move on his behalf. I really admire his dedication with the diet, that can't be easy transition. Not only is he strong as hell but he actually looks healthy and fit now.

Great read, it is amazing what we are capable of. Good for you Vincent! I am sorry your road to this decision was initiated by the death of a family member but you should stand tall and walk proud, it takes a real man to re-invent and rebuild himself! What an amazing transformation! at 6'4" and 275 all I have been doing is eating to try and add some mass to my frame and recently decided to just get as strong as I can at this weight and then we will see?

Much respect to you and your efforts, well done indeed!

The only good thing about my pain is that is reassures me that I'm still alive.

Vincent is the reason I am dropping to 198. I don't want there to be any chance that he and I will both step onto the platform at 220.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It was quite an experience. I took a lot away from it. I'm holding steady at 275. I feel great, am happy with how I look, and have good strength. I have not taken my asthma medicine for months. My cardio, conditioning, and work capacity have all improved dramatically. My bp is 120/78 and my blood work is excellent. I hope to continue making progress well into my forties.

Thanks to Chris for doing the article. I am really pleased with how it came out.

    This was a great read.

Vince, you had an amazing transformation that's inspirational for us mere mortals with natural inner fat dudes inside of us! Also, congratulations on not needing your asthma medicine and the great BP numbers. That's just awesome!!!

I know you said in the article that you were planning to continue competing in the 242 division. Is this still your current plan?

Thanks. Right now I am competing in the 275's. I'm very comfortable here right now. My vitals and bloodwork are all excellent. I'm still off my asthma medication. So now the question is do I want bigger numbers or better body composition. I'm very comfortable with how I look although who would not want to be a little leaner. So, I'm opting for the bigger numbers for a bit. I have a few things I'd like to do in the 275's before I drop down to the 242's for a regular basis.
