The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Kevin: Thanks and agreed. The gym I found is 99 for 3 months w/o any bs start up fees or anything. I have everything I need + good people to chat with after a session. Nice gem.
ljosaitis: A rad sadistic combo. If you look at the start of my log, front squats are all I used to do for the longest time.
Patz: Patient? Perhaps, but I'm always insatiable. Both are conflicting qualities.

Not a bad PR on PP, never really tried heavy PP singles before. Nice overhead lockout power. Was a bit surprised. If these were rubber/oly plates, I would have tried more. Dips would have been weighted if the weight belt wasn't broken. Looks like I'm bringing my chain an carabiner next time. Scouted a local hockey rink in the area...may lace up again. Expect to see GoPro footage if I do.

Awesome push presses congrats on the PR. I like oly plates too for anything overhead, its that extra confidence of "if I drop this I wont look like a complete asshole because it won't sound like an explosion of iron on the ground. The gym fee sounds really straight, every gym is stupid expensive up here and they try working you like used car salesmen with start up fees and extra bullshit. Keep up the good sessions.

Kevin & Patz: Overhead strength is something I feel I have been neglecting. PP is an excellent power movement that I would like to continue to test maxes with. May consult you all with form issues in the coming days.

Single arm rope push downs done strict and a significant distance away as posted by Matt Bryduck up at the BB forums. Gave it a go and started feeling it a bit more at the crest of the triceps, perhaps due to the weight - perhaps to the added distance....twas an interesting take on a classic movement.

Lots of great work going on in here.

Good work on the push press. Bench coming back strong. Very impressive pullups, too! Wish they were that easy for me, lol!

Huge case of the fuck-it's today. Planned on playing hockey, get to the arena, turns out they canceled the session. Benched in my jeans and t-shirt and called it. Happy with the volume, though.

Gaz: pull ups were sort of hard...had slight shoulder pains. Did some recovery and everything is a ok.
Thelion: thanks for reminding me. Just updated. Thanks for checking in!
Kevin: I like em. They are hell to get on, which is a good thing. You want em tight. I have a size 3xl I believe. I need to dbl check. Need talc to slide em up at times. I want to get Metal knee wraps. Sleeves are just convenient for training, but no fed allows double ply sleeves.
Nick: thanks! Bench is picking up too! Making slow strides.

Lion: Heard that. Lots happening this month. I feel great. Progress, march on.
Kevin: Thanks! I didn't feel all that bad monday. Friday's session was just sub maximal volume. Didn't really suffer fatigue.
Patz: Inching is right. I suspect I get 260, 265 soon.

Played hockey tonight for an hour and a half. First scrimmage in about 6 years. Fuck that was brutal. Hardcore foam rolling on the back today.

To piggy back on Monday's workout: warmed up with 20 pvc dislocates, 20 tornadoes. The dislocates are brutal, but really help.

Chris said he's hoping the site will be better in-general now after the update. I hope so, because this place is seriously dying. Good efforts in here, even though they're gone I remember some of them. LOL
