The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Right, first day of cut done. Don't feel starving, but can tell now as I'm going to bed that I've had less to eat than normal, haha!

    2,202 kcals 87.9g fat 189.5g carbs 186.1g protein

Not sure how those macros stack up, I'm sure the clever guys will tell me which, if any, need to go up or down.

Well done getting the first day done. I would suggest sticking with these macro's for 1-2 weeks and see how it works out. If its not optimal you can always alter then, but this is a good starting point.

Personally, i prefer going a bit lower on fats and a bit higher on protein, but as said just go ahead and see if this works.

Second day of my cut and I've just sat down to my last meal of the day. Spaghetti Bolognese with low-fat red chilli cottage cheese.

Workout session was good fun. Was sweating like a pig, which I don't normally. Managed to set a Chin-Up PR, which I'm happy about. Glad to be in double figures now. And set a Row PR, which I didn't realise till sitting down to type this.

Fat crept up slightly today, will try to take it down to about 70/80 tomorrow. It left me with little room to play with re my calories, haha.

Awesome job hitting the double digits in chins, really is no easy feat!

Some strong pressing going on there too. Welcome to the cutting crew as well, hopefully it works out for you my man.

Cheers mate! Hunger levels aren't too bad, but I can DEFINITELY tell that I'm eating less. I went to bed feeling pretty hungry last night and woke up hungry this morning. Just gotta keep telling myself that it's only a few weeks, haha.

Cheers HJ - I'm pleased; it was my weakest exercise by far at one point. Leaving Lat-pulldown land was one of the best moves I've made.

Right, end of my third day of cut.

Had a word with Behemoth and so decided to up calories slightly to about 2300, rather than 2200. Start off slow.

Dropped fat a little bit today, so I had more room to play with actual food, haha.

    2356cals 54g fat 177g carb 207.2g Protein

Starting to feel slightly hungry all the time now. Been stuffing my face for six months, now my body's gotta get used to not eating whenever I get the urge, hehe.

    Day Fifty Eight

    Bench:

    20x44
    6x110
    6x132
    6x154
    6x176 x2x2x2

    Dips:

    6xBW
    6xBW+33
    4xBW+66

    Curlzzzzz:

    6x33
    6x39
    6x39 x2x2x2

    Conditioning:

Pushing a 200lb motorbike two miles home from the gym after fuckwit here forgot that he hadn't fixed the lights yet...

    --------------
    Summary:

Great session. Really happy with bench today - been struggling with 176lbs (80kgs) for a while; sometimes managing it, sometimes not. Tonight it flew up. One thing I found made a little bit of difference was warming my shoulders up with some light standing presses beforehand. Was nice n loose and warmed up ready to bench.

Dips were okay, I just couldn't manage the 6 at +66lbs tonight - think I fried my tris with the bench. Been missing the +66lbs quite a bit lately - I think I might lower that set to +44lbs in order to get the reps and clusters out.

    Curlz were curlz.

Cut's going well - feeling very hungry today. Cooking homemade fajitas in a bit. Will post up all my diet stats later tonight when I finish nomming.

    Today's food:

    Cals: 2228 Fat: 87.9 Carbs: 146 Protein: 210.1

Used pork mince to cook the fajitas, hence the fat.

Cheers OR! It's my own fault re transportation. I've got 2 bikes, one 1985, one 1989 and a French-registered 1995 Mondeo which has seen MUCH better days. Trying to keep this little fleet in good working order on a student's budget is an uphill struggle, haha....
