The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Nice work Gazzy, those 20 reppers after the single are solid. Good macro's as well. Higher carbs to assist with the big squatting.

    Day Sixty Six

    Chins:

    10xBW
    9xBW
    6xBW

    One Arm DB Rows:

    6x44 (20kg)
    6x66 (30kg)
    6x77 (35kg)
    6x88 (40kg) x2x2x2

    Standing Press:

    6x44 (20kg)
    6x66 (30kg)
    6x88 (40kg)
    6x110 (50kg) x2x2x2

    Hanging Leg Raises:

    6
    6
    6
    6

    --------------
    Summary:

Happy with progress on chins today. I feel I could've cracked 10 on that second set, but being on a cut I just wanna take it as I planned. Don't wanna get the 10 this week, then have no strength next week and do worse. Hopefully next week will see me doing back to back sets of 10 chins. I've never been able to do that before.

Rows felt heavy, but they did last time too.

Press was fun. 40kg felt very heavy, but strangely the 50kg didn't feel much heavier at all. Noticed that really squeezing the life out of the bar helps me generate a lot more strength. Second set of clusters on the press were tough. But on the third set I throttled the bar and the reps flew up easier. Dunno how this works, but it does.

Joints were really achey today. Particularly the elbows. Gonna start taking more cod liver.

Feeling a bit flabby around the belly today, too. Don't know why. Diet is on track. Water retention? I've hardly been drinking anything and keep finding myself very thirsty, whereas when I was bulking I was downing lots of water.

Dang! Look at all those chins. Dropping the weight will have you doing a super ammount of reps.

It's going alright bud. Definitely looking more defined and feeling a lot tighter all over.

Yeah, seem to be keeping strength okay, but just feel very low on energy. Getting tired quickly, needing more rest between sets and taking a bit longer to recover between sessions. All expected though.

Just gonna keep at it - if I don't see it through then it means the last 3 weeks of being hungry and not getting stronger have been wasted, eh?

Cheers! Having one tomorrow mate - it's a friend's birthday and we're going out to Hooters, so thought - sod it. Plus I'm benching, so could use the fuel, haha. It'll make a change to go to bed not feeling ravenous.

Joints do start to get achey pretty fast on a cut, at least for me. Your dietary fat seems to be at the right level. Increasing fish oil could help though.

Getting "flabby" on a cut is normal as i've read before. You could probably find some science on why it happens.

Keep it up, you are doing great.

From what I have noticed over the past few weeks is that when my waist feels a bit flabbier and it seems that I can grab fat and skin easier I have a quick drop in weight immediately that week.

The last time I had a good deal of what felt like flab and then 3 days later it was down considerably. Just keep looking for it and see if maybe you get a sudden drop in bodyfat now.

It's just a little something I noticed with my own body. Not sure if it's correlational or just random.

When the Carbs and Proteins are at or under 200 grams a day then it starts to get tough! You're in it for the long run Gazzy, keep it up. You've been staying consistent. Just try to resist the bad over eatting days, keep it moderate.

    Thanks for the encouragement, T+P!

I've noticed a big difference now that I've dropped from 2300>2000 cals. Plan out my food for the day and it just seems pitifully small...
