The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

May wait later for the Thor DVD to get released, and not even sure about that - the physique dude has seemed to be a highlight and little story line in the trailer as far as I'm concerned.

There's some storyline, but it's mostly about the action. They do a good job of making him seem like a god. But the highlight for me was Asgard, the city of the gods. Wow, they did a good job on that place.

I think they did a bloody good job of keeping the spirit of the comics though.

That's definitely one of the positives of leaving a cut and then increasing the calories. Your body thanks you and the strength starts to come back. Don't overdo the weight increases each workout. Just keep the progress steady.

    Day Seventy Four

Thought it was DL day, but it was bench day.

    Bench:

    10x45 (20kg)
    6x110 (50kg)
    6x154 (70kg)
    3x176 (80kg)
    3x176 (80kg)
    3x176 (80kg)
    3x176 (80kg)

    Dips:

    10xBW
    10xBW
    10xBW

    Curlzzzz:

    6x22 (10kg)
    6x28 (12.5kg)
    6x33 (15kg)
    6x39 (17.5kg)
    20x28 (12.kg)

    --------------
    Summary:

Had a look through the 30lbs in 30days and liked the idea of using sets of 3 reps in order to hoist the bigger weights. So will be doing that on Bench worksets from now on.

Forgot my dipping belt, so ended up doing BW dips. Glad for it, tbh - tris felt fried and failing on weighted dips would have demotivated me.

Really want to add a lighter bench session in, so I'm benching twice a week. Not sure where though...

Nice session. It's fun to switch things up every now and again. High rep dips are a good switch.

Nice work Gazzy!!! If your going to bench twice a week, remember to keep one of them light. That way you don't burn out. Try doing speed work on your lighter days.

Yeah, was nice - my elbows and shoulders ache a lot less, haha. Good pump too.

I was thinking the same thing and I actually started to do it. My first day of throwing speed work back in on my OHP day is the same day I tore my ACL, lol. So when ever I do get back at it, I will bench heavy on Tuesday and then do a light speed bench vs. bands and then move on to some sort of shoulder exercise.

    Single Legged Leg Press:

    6x194 (88kg)
    6x234 (106kg)
    6x254 (115kg)
    6x254 (115kg)

    Calf Raise:

    6x174 (79kg)
    6x254 (115kg)
    6x293 (133kg)
    6x313 (142kg)

    --------------
    Summary:

A meh session. Had a great session yesterday so wasn't expecting fireworks today. From 3 plates upwards the pulls felt very heavy. Tried for 160kg more than once, but couldn't budge it.

Too good sessions back-to-back in the week after my cut would probably be expecting too much, lol.

I'm not stressing. Gonna eat, eat, eat. Also going into town in a bit to buy some new protein shake. Different brand this time (Sci-MX Lean Grow).

    Cheers OR!

I managed that 160kg pull last week, which is annoying. That's what makes me think it's cos I trained yesterday. Like you said - I'll get it next time.

I'd love to come down mate. Will have to see whether my bike's out of the garage by then, also whether my mrs will let me, haha! Yeah, I'm still doing HCT-12. I haven't really given much thought to changing it, although I am starting to lower reps to use higher weights.
