Joined that new gym today, so was determined to make the most of their squat rack! Very pleased I decided to go for the 145, as it didn't feel any harder than the 140.
Kept all the accessory stuff pretty light. Don't like their calf raise machine - very tough on the shoulders. Gonna use the leg press for calf raises instead. Kept the Hamstrings very light as I did them on Saturday.

Numbers are all on the up, can't complain at all. Will be hitting 190kg Dead and 150kg Squat very shortly, I feel it. Shoulder's feeling great now too, twinges a little when sleeping, but all through the day it's fine, so will be able to reintroduce barbell benching and pressing soon, albeit relatively lightly.
Got my Stag weekend (or as you yanks would called it 'Bachelor') with all my mates, so gonna keep weights reasonably light the rest of the week. Going out on a RIB for a full speed blast out at sea! Don't want to throw my back out before that, lol.
Getting married in only three weeks, gotta make sure I stay injury free, lol.

Happy with that session. Shoulder was stinging, but very bearable. Aching a little now, but nothing like it did before. Think keeping the weights reasonably light like this I'll be able to keep training upper body while it heals.
Pleasantly surprised with barbell bench - not done it for so long I thought I'd get buried under even 1pps, but it turned out that I've not lost much, if any strength. If I wasn't concerned about hurting my shoulder, I feel I could've got to 80kgx3 not a problem.
People do say that the body grows in unison, so it may be that my upper body has been staying relatively strong because I've been training my lower half so much, if that makes sense...?
Next in for some deadlifts on Friday morning, very early, before I leave for my stag do. Gonna keep them very light, probably not go above 3pps, as I want to be in good nick for partying!!
Nice work bro. The major compound lifts (squat/deads) will help upper to a degree, especially as they keep the anabolic hormone levels nice an high!
BUT, yea I've noticed that lower body training helps with upper training, if only psychologically.
