The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Thanks Nick! Yeah, a lot of old friends who haven't seen me for a while turned up to the reception and couldn't believe the difference in me. Amazing how 18months can change you. Looking forward to seeing what changes the next 18 months brings!

On the dancefloor at night a few of us were dancing away and I picked one of my friends up and span around with him. He's substantially heavier than me and when I put him down he said 'You MUST be fucking strong!' That made me lol.

    Very quick bench session

    Bench:

    6xbar
    6xbar
    6x40(88)
    6x60(132)
    3x80(176)
    3x90(198) Equals PR

    Standing Press:

    6xbar
    6x30(66)
    6x30(66)

    ----------
    Summary:

Literally only a 20min session today as I had to take my wife into uni. Still, equalled my personal best on the bench, so very happy with that, especially with my shoulder being as it is.

Next week will try 92.5kg and it's all PRs from there!

Maintaining that way on the bench is great, no doubt new PRs are on the horizon.

Damn! PR's on rows and deads, nice job!

Have you set any goals for weight on any of these exercises or just playing it by ear?

Don't have any set goals, really, but I'd be happy with a 160(352) Squat, 120(265) Bench and a 200(440) Deadlift before the Summer.

I think the squat and Deadlift are both achieveable in a month or so, but the bench will take a lot more work to move.

Thanks Rob. Speed was reasonable, tbh, no slower than the 180kg, though I'm sure I could've used my glutes a lot more towards lockout!

Now I have a training partner (on occasion) I'll have to get some footage of my lifts for people to critique.
