The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Thanks Hayden. It's just getting those calories to fit in my stomach, that's the hard part! I've got friends that aren't active in any way shape or form yet they can eat me under the table despite all the exercise I do, lol. Not good!

    Wide-arm Clapping Pushups:

    20, 10

    Hanging Leg Raises:

    15,15,12

    ----------
    Summary:

    Winning!

Everything felt good and strong tonight.

Tris were completely fried; meant to get ten reps on the last set of CGBP, but had to rack it halfway up as arms had NOTHING left, haha! Again, a good kind of tired; tired from training, not lack of energy.

Rows flew up - rowing strength is back. Loved it.

Pullups - meh. I'm two stone (~30lbs) heavier than when I last did consistent pullups, so gonna take a good long while to get better at them. Can only get better by doing them though.

Clapping pushups... Tris were tired. Meant to do 3x20. Got weaker and weaker on the second set till I inevitably faceplanted.

Got up, strutted about the place like a hardman giving the 1000yard stare to anyone who laughed. "Sup bro? You never do face-pushups?"

    Moderate Interval Training

    5min warmup jog

    Then 3x the following intervals:

    100m strides
    Jog back to start
    100m all-out sprint
    Jog back to start
    15x bodyweight squats

    Then cooldown walk

Pretty fun. The fast running is tiring me out less these days and the jogs are restoring my energy quicker than ever.

Thanks Mac! Felt like I shoulda had pompoms lol.

And cheers - second book really hots up the action from the first, I feel. Introduces a lot of the new main characters too.

Thanks Jay! One day I'll have 3pps on the bench and 2pps overhead. That day, I will feel like a man.

Thanks Tom! It's so true, isn't it? Back when I was doing HCT12 I could blast out ten chins and dips with added weight. Gonna be a good while before I get to that again now. However, my thinking is that if I can crank out the same reps at two stone heavier, then I'd get pretty damn strong.

Cheers Brian! Unfortunately, unable to pick it up today, as I was planning, because we're snowed in!

Huge amount of snow fell yesterday and overnight. Not even gonna risk going to the gym today, either.

Got car booked in at garage for new waterpump and cambelt on Monday, so will have to brave the roads then to pick it up and take it to the garage lol.

Haha, yup! We only get snow for a few days each year in Britain, so there's never any point in the authorities investing in plows etc.

Which means that whenever it DOES snow, we're screwed for a few days till it melts, haha!

Long Distance Run in the SNOW

    5.25 miles 1hr 2mins 18secs

Thick snow and my route is on quite a big hill. Only way I can describe it is like running up a never-ending, ice-cold sand dune, lol!

Never thought to check out the actual size of the hill I run up before, so had a look on the map tool I use today. Turns out, a good chunk of the run is going up hill, haha!

The 1.5miles is the main route, so to do today's 5.25miles, for example, I run out, back, out, then halfway back.
