    ME Lower

    Squats:

    15xbar
    6x80(176)
    4x105(231)
    2x120(264)
    1x140(308)
    1x150(330)
    10x105(231)

    Cable Pullthroughs:

    8x55(121)
    8x80(176)
    8x80(176)

    Barbell Split Jerks:

    Various reps, various weights

    Hanging Leg Raises:

    8, 8, 8

    ----------
    Summary:

Meant to go for a double or even triple on the 150kg squat, but fell forwards in the hole. Muscle it up no problem but lower back was tender afterwards, so took the rest of the session easy.

Was meant to do some heavy shrugs and SLDLs, but would rather keep lower back intact.

Can only assume it's still fatigued from the run/all the GMs I've been doing of late.

Running seriously low on protein atm, so not been hammering the shakes like I should. Gonna get another tub soon, then back to 3-a-day.

Cheers Steve! Really need to up the kcals and protein, big time. It's all the running, burning my kcals away. If I wasn't running, guarantee I'd be setting lifting PRs left, right and centre!

    lol guys!

I don't particularly enjoy the running, myself, tbh. It's so damn painful keeping yourself going when your body's screaming at you 'stop this madness! Why are you running when there's no tiger behind us?'

However, I'd rather be strong and fit, than strong and heaving when I reach the top of the stairs, lol.

Haha! Too true Gaz! I used to really like running. I used to be cross-country runner when I first joined up... but I was much younger (& nearly 6 stone lighter!).
I do need to start doing a bit again though as my kilt was very tight at the New Year and I NEED to get a bit leaner... I just don't like it anymore!

Yup, it's the weight that makes the difference.

Before I started weight training, I was 10st7 - running was easy peasy, used to do 7 miles of a morning with no effort, lol.

Now I'm best part of 3 and a half stone heavier and it's so much more of an effort on the joints, lungs, muscles, everything.

    ----------
    Summary:

    Legs... shaking...

The 80kg speed squats were a piece of piss and really FLYING up, to the point of nearly leaving my shoulders when the glutes snapped me upright at the top.

The front squats, though, are KILLERS! Main problem is getting the holding position right - ended up with the bar trying to roll down onto my arms from time to time. Last set of 25x40 was great fun, getting a real burn in the quads.

Shrugs should have been sets of 8, but had no straps, so chalked up and split them into sets of 4.
