I've heard people talk about how he was going to be the one to break Mendelson's raw bench record, does anyone know how close he was to being able to do this? He's the only guy I've watched bench and thought he'd eventually be able to hit 715+ raw. A lot of his 600-650 lb benches went up with a speed that indicated he was good for quite a bit more, was his best 650 or 675?

didn't know him either, in fact only recently got hip to him. Very impressive lifts and AMAZINGLY HUGE.
Also read that he not long ago dropped some weight, went drop 360 down to like 315.

what a pity, condolences to the family.

I've seen that but wasn't it "unofficial" because the spotters held onto the bar the whole time? I just don't understand how he has an unofficial 700x2 and never got around to breaking Mendelson's 715. Wouldn't he be able to crush 715 with the way he handled 700x2?
