Very nice story man, you make the necessary impression to be receiving that type of immediate respect.

100 reps combined of pressing and rowing = volume galore!! Would have had a huge pump in the upper body! Solid as a rock

Also good story about the kid, must have been priceless to see!

    Funny story...

Size does matter... Now I'm not the biggest guy in the world, but I do carry some size at 5'-11" and 240 lbs. Today, while sitting in my office at school, one of those typical smart-ass 18 year old seniors started causing trouble in the clasroom. It was getting pretty heated between the student, teacher, and administrator. I was just listening and staying out of it, letting the others handle it...until he started making threats...that's when I stepped out of my office and you should have seen the instant change in that kids expression...priceless. I told him to calm down and go away...he said, "umm, okay." - lol
Next time he's in your class declare it a silent study hall. Then stare him down the whole period and flex your neck.

That is a lot of work, I didn't bother to count it all.

No need, he's on his way to the continuation high school. Can't have a kid like that around and bullying all the female employees.

I'm not terribly intimidating when I have some students just as tall if not taller than me! I hate being short. If I could be as proportionally big at 5'11" or 6 feet I'd enjoy that much more.

I have to do something like this for the weekend. My motivation has been terrible, but my schedule is so much more hectic. I'll probably be having some personal thought, so if you can check out my journal this weekend and comment where necessary, please do.

I wouldn't getting some words of encouragement from a fellow family man, teacher, and avid gym goer.

Did you move from a routine where you were hitting it more than 4 days a week? I have to play around with my schedule drastically. It's a mess.

Great story about that kid, 240 is huge compared to average sized people.

I'm liking the volume on that last session too!

I've wondered if there was any unproven truth to this for years. I know when I started out doing my deads and squats at 15 they were pretty ugly. Not that I went real heavy but it took some time to even get decent form. I thought I was going to be 6'2" - 6'3" judging from my family but wound up under 5'9". Probably just an unlucky card.

I'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts as well. I am seriously thinking of cutting things way back for a while until I feel ready to go crazy again.

Stick with your training and power through.

Seems like that's exactly what you're doing, so good job in that respect.

You are correct. I've been doing more soul searching and I think just starting the 3/5/1 cycle has me down a bit. I just know it's a long time between progressions, so I know I just have to go in and get the work done. Not too exciting at the moment.

I think maybe I'll have to switch out some lifts to get the motivation back. I'm not a powerlifter, so there is no reason to be so rigid about the lifts I choose to work on.

I am seriously thinking of switching to some different lifts for a while to bring back the enthusiasm...
Not to mention it's probably time to do some switching since I've been hammering the same lifts for a couple of years now.
