Excellent work on the weight loss! It's always a bonus when the wife notices things in a good way.

Nothing beats the compliment from the wife OR!!
I'm just glad I don't use a commercial gym, I don't have to kick the teens off the bench so I can use it. Hope your bench session went well.

You are correct, I feel fresh and ready to hit some high reps again.

I'll make sure I post progress pics of the Jeep build, even though it will be mild compared to my crawler Jeep. But I plan to do more to my crawler Jeep too, like tubing out the back end and stretching the wheel base. So, lots of money to be spent in the next couple of years

It's amazing how much fat I was able to get rid of from the mid-section. Very pleased and thanks for the support.

I picked up my son at scout camp today. It's great to have him home after he's been gone for a week. I got to do that three mile hike three times this week. Every time got easier and easier. It's funny how you can adapt so quickly. Today I cruised right up the hill like I was walking around the mall. Not even winded.

I cannot get the doors on any more because the tub is bent and dented, I can't get the top on any more, the whole rig pulls to the left because the frame is bent, it's too big for my wife and kids to jump into easily, the tires cost about $450.00 each so I don't want to wear them out. Basically, it's just a terrible rig to drive around on the streets any more. So, I'm retiring it to rock crawling duties only.

    So now the fun begins...
I am shopping for a new Jeep to use as a family rig and a daily driver. I am going to get a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4 door) and do a mild build-up on it. I don't want to build it too big or capable because then I'd be tempted to take it on the harder trails. But I love to modify Jeeps, so a little bit of work will go into it just to make it nice. I'm thinking of a mild lift with 35 inch tires, plus a few other goodies to make it trail worthy like a winch, bumpers, skid plates, lockers, gears, and 4:1 transfer case. This is going to be a fun project and the kids are looking forward to having a comfortable Jeep to get around in again.

You must not have much of a commute if your new daily driver is getting all those mods..lol

    A.M. Conditioning

1 mile jog/walk...I walked a lap, jogged a lap, walked a lap, jogged a lap. Then walked around a little more to get rid of the shin splints. My conditioning is good, but my legs and back can't take the beating from the jogging. Mostly I'm doing it because my younger son is getting into shape for football, trying to make the team. He ran a whole mile and did some sprints.

    Funny times last night...

We had family in town so we went to the Mother-In-Law's house for dinner. My nephew is a Huge kid (like 6'3" and 290 lbs), very strong (squats around 550), and competes in strongman events (seen him fly with a 900 lb yoke). Anyways, I look on a chair and see one of those goofy Shake Weight thingy-ma-bobbers, you know the one's from the infomecials that we like to watch with the sound off (don't lie). I call my nephew over to see if he picked up a new training device (haha). We both start laughing, thinking it belongs to the sister-in-law/aunt that was visiting. While we were discussing how much a waste of money it was, the husband got all excited that we were checking out HIS new training device. So the nephew and I acted all interested and kept him talking about it. He was demonstrating it, telling us how great it was for his biceps, telling us how tough it was so it must be really good for the guns, etc. The nephew and I were just dying and trying not to laugh out loud. We wanted to be nice, the guy just wanted to share our hobby I guess. But then he said, "wait here." He ran upstairs and brought down his Perfect Push-Up, you know the twisting handles. He then proceded to give us the spiel about how awesome this thing was for his chest. "It's like doing dips" he said. He kept trying to get us to try this stuff out claiming it was better than the cable flyes and dumbbell curls he normally does at the gym. I told him he needed a whole suitcase just for his equipment. My nephew can't take any more and starts laughing and tells him what a waste it was, "Anything without the word Squat in it isn't a workout." We both start laughing, we felt bad but couldn't hold it in any longer. I can't believe that people actually believe thos infomercials and buy into it completely. Afterwards the nephew and I were comparing squat workouts and talking about 5/3/1 vs. Juggernaut. The brother-in-law/uncle was just sitting there quietly listening...I hope he was taking notes
