    What's the difference between chain suspended squats and pin press squats? I'd imagine they bar is less stable coming off the chains requiring more core work?

    I don't know much about either, but perhaps you could get the chain in more of an exact position for your squat than with the pins?

    1) It doesn't make as much noise when you bring the bar down like you would on the pins.
    2) Like Mike S said below, it's easier for me to get setup. The lift is exactly the same, just one is out of chains instead of off of pins.
    3) The chains will keep the bar safer. Dropping the bar on the pins will cause it to bounce alot and will bend a bar fast. IMO, the chains won't do that.

    That's exactly why I do them out of chains, it's ALOT easier for me to get setup properly.
