    375 Raw Bench @ 190

Pretty much double bodyweight, this morning I was 188 but we'll say 190 with clothes on.

Any critique on form would be appreciated.

Thats great man. Thats good form. Your elbows even went a little below parallel so I'd say you have more in you for sure.

One thing I noticed, you had your elbows tucked well for the negative but then you flared them out 1/4 up through the lift. You for sure lost some power there. You were lifting that mostly with your chest.

Yeah flaring my elbows has always been a problem. I've brought up my triceps strength quite a bit lately but my chest still dominates the lift.

Is there anything I can do to work on keeping my elbows tucked, besides making a mental note during the lift?

I dont like giving advice to guys who are stronger than me but I would say back the weight off alittle on volume day so you can focus on the using your triceps more. I wouldnt be suprised if they had to "catch up" for a little while but I am sure you would progress faster with a form involving more triceps.

I am not saying go all out and tuck your arms completely like the shirted guys, but I believe that you should definitely let your triceps come to the party haha

In all honestly, your form is pretty good from my POV. That was the only thing I could see you possibly improving on.

Here is a video to demonstrate what I mean:

Thanks for the input. I've been hammering close grip bench a lot as it was severely lagging compared to normal/comp grip.

Form is fine, its normal to flair the elbows as you go up...many teach that actually.

    Awesome lift!

Was that about pinky on rings. Is that your strongest grip width or are you protecting shoulders or something?

    Well done mate.

Yeah pinkies on the second set of rings. Definitely my strongest width right now. I used to bench a little narrower but my chest dominates my triceps quite a bit now so I've moved it out some.

I remember you used to weigh a lot more. How did you improve strength while dropping weight so drastically?

My strength really didn't go up much until I finished my cut. I did however drop around 40 pounds without losing much strength. I followed a strict keto diet, with a refeed day every weekend. As I got leaner I upped my refeeds to twice a week.
